HOT topics

Thank you for your submissions, we had a lot to choose from. The 8 topics chosen were picked because they were either a popular question or a controversial issue. You won’t want to miss one of these Sundays as we bring a biblical perspective to the Hot Topics of 2008.

Me, Myspace & iPod
We are surrounded by technology and the media, how do these influence our Christian values and is there anything we can or should do about it?

The Last “Word”
How valid is the Bible really? Isn’t so much of it outdated and foreign to our culture?

Who Would Jesus Vote for?
Campaigning for the next election has been underway for way too long. There is a lot of information to sift through but we want to make the right choice. Any ideas?

Women in the Church
Should 21st century women really be as limited as those in the 1st century church?

Wikineutics
Wikipedia’s articles have been written cooperatively by volunteers around the world, and nearly all of its articles can be edited by anyone with access to the Internet. Because of it’s free-editabililty, it lacks credibility with many. Many Christians lack credibility for similar reasons. We pick and choose the Scripture we like while ignoring text that maybe difficult or confusing. How do we accurately translate Scripture so we live as the hands and feet of Jesus?

Freewill vs. Predestination
Do I have the ability to choose in this life or does God choose for me? Have I been predestined since the beginning of time to ask that question?

Homosexuality and the Church
What would Jesus say to a gay or lesbian couple going to the Quarry?

Kids These Days
Parenting isn’t easy and there’s a lot to protect our kids from. But we can’t always protect them, so how do we teach them to make good decisions and want to follow Christ?
